MORE Power energizes new 30/36 MVA Mobile Substation
MORE Power Iloilo’s brand new 30/36 MVA Mobile Power Transformer was fully energized on Sunday, March 12 and the distribution utility will transfer the load from the old Molo Power Transformer on Tuesday, March 14 to rehabilitate the latter.
The newest mobile substation boasts some impressive features, including a 30 MVA Power Transformer manufactured by ASTOR A.Ş. It also utilizes the PASS M00 technology of ABB (Hitachi Energy), which compactly combines a power circuit breaker, disconnect switches, current transformers, and potential transformers in one small form factor package.
MORE Power is the first in the country to use the technology.
The facility also has compact gas-insulated switchgears and relays by Siemens and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), as well as a state-of-the-art ETOS smart digital tap changer and MSENSE online DGA by Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen.
With the new technology, MORE Power’s consumers can now expect more reliable and efficient electricity, resulting in reduced power outages and losses.
MORE Power has partnered with EEI Power Corporation, and Aktif Elektroteknik of Turkey for this project.
Roel Z. Castro, the company’s President and CEO, expressed his gratitude to their partners and re-emphasized their commitment to delivering top-notch service to their customers.
“Our partnership with EEI and Aktif has allowed us to bring the latest technology and innovations to provide the best quality service that our consumers deserve,” said Castro.
The energization of the new equipment marks a significant milestone for MORE Power and the business community in Iloilo City.
In the coming months, the company will start rehabilitating and upgrading the old Molo substation while temporarily using the said mobile substation to serve the consumers in the district.
Castro explained that the new equipment is designed to ensure customers’ access to reliable and cost-efficient power supply, which will contribute to the growth and development of the booming business community in Iloilo City.
The upgrade will also benefit the city’s business operations, with a more stable power supply leading to increased efficiency.
The purchase of this mobile substation is part of the 5-year rehabilitation plan of MORE Power to modernize its entire facility and bring in latest technology and innovations to provide top-notch service to valued consumers.
