Iloilo City Named Green LGU Champion at the 2025 Europa Awards

Iloilo City has once again demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility by winning the Green LGUs (Waste Management) category at the 2025 Europa Awards, hosted by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP).
The award was presented during the Europa Awards and Sustainability Forum held on Thursday, April 3, at Raffles and Fairmont Makati, where Engr. Neil Ravena, head of the City General Services Office (GSO), accepted the award on behalf of the Iloilo City Government.
In his official statement, Mayor Jerry P. Treñas expressed deep appreciation for the honor:
“Iloilo City is honored to be recognized as the winner in the Green LGUs category at the Europa Awards by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. This award highlights our efforts to keep the city clean, green, and sustainable. I sincerely thank Engr. The Europa Awards celebrate exemplary contributions to sustainability, aligned with the European Green Deal and the Philippines’ AmBisyon Natin 2040. The awards aim to honor trailblazers in sustainable development, promote best practices, and encourage collaboration across sectors.
