LoGIC Network in Iloilo completed dialogue series for CSOs and LGUs

The Local Government Integrity Circles (LoGIC) Network in the Province of Iloilo has completed a dialogue series between civil society and Local Government Units last August 18, 2020.
The dialogue series discussed the challenges that CSOs and LGUs have encountered under the pandemic so that appropriate steps can be taken and a better normal can be attained in the days ahead while fighting the Coronavirus disease is still ongoing.
The Iloilo Provincial Government targeted the participation of CSOs who are operating within 30 Local Government Units to the 1-day activity called “Dialogue with CSOs & LGUs on Revisiting Integrity Mechanisms and Formation of Integrity Circle” between August 10 to 18, 2020.
The dialogue was facilitated by the Iloilo Provincial Government’s Local Economic Development and Investments Promotions (LEDIP) center, a unit under the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), Iloilo Caucus of Development NGOs (Iloilo CODE-NGOs), and other CSO network operating in Panay Island.
About the LoGIC Project
The LoGIC Network aims to develop a countrywide culture of integrity through formations of multi-sectoral Integrity Circles at the municipal level.
Last year, the LoGIC Network conducted project orientation, execution of the Integrity Self-Assessment Tool (ISAT) among LGUs, and Integrity Mechanism (IM) Writeshop. All of these activities were designed to help LGUs assess their level of integrity.
The series of dialogue held in Iloilo was part of the network’s continuing activities. It revisited Integrity Mechanisms of LGUs, presented ISAT results, to form the Integrity Circles at the LGU level which is composed of representatives from the LGU, business sector, and CSOs.
CSOs-LGUs clustered dialogue
The dialogue series was organized into five (5) clusters with six LGU-CSO participants per cluster and with only 35 maximum participants for proper physical distancing and to observe all necessary health safety protocols.
Cluster 1 is composed of Oton, Tigbauan, Miagao, San Joaquin, Leon and Alimodian. Cluster 2 includes Pavia, Sta. Barbara, San Miguel, Zarraga, Leganes and New Lucena.
On the other hand, Cluster 3 has Cabatuan, Janiuay, Badiangan, Calinog, Bingawan and Lambunao while Cluster 4 has Dumangas, Dingle, Btac. Nuevo, Passi City, Pototan and Mina. Lastly, Cluster 5 includes Barotac Viejo, Sara, Ajuy, Concepcion, Balasan and Carles.
The LoGIC Network is a co-funded project by the European Union and by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development Cooperation. It is implemented in the Philippines by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Philippines together with the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), Centrist Democracy Political Institute (CDPI), League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP), and League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP).
